I hate the dizziness-inducing anxiety I get when I state that a character (or myself) doesn't want to be feminine (or do feminine thing) because people get SO offended and take it like you're making a judgement against them when you're not. Meanwhile, they freak out on you and put YOU down while claiming women like you are the ones who tend to be that way when we're just doing our own thing. What really gets me is that the whole "not like the other girls" is often slapped onto gnc women even if we don't act that way - simply because we're gnc - but completely feminine and heterosexual women will act exactly that way and never be called on it... because they conform. So it's largely a projection and a way of bullying women who aren't gender-conforming. Because you know, we're not supposed to be, in a lot of people's eyes.
